Security of your valuable data - after it has been backed up - is of paramount importance. For this reason, we have contracted with MaxUptime, LLC for professional onsite management and technical support of our data storage equipment and telecommunications infrastructure.

Our equipment is located in a carrier-grade collocation supplied by dual-feed power grids. The facility is a major Internet peering point for all major carriers providing excellent bandwidth availability. The pictures shown on this page are true images of the main colocation area used by Dr.Backup. Access to the facility is closely controlled and monitored by closed circuit TV monitors. Keycard access is required to enter the collocation area which is manned by uniformed security guards. Your critical backups are literally maintained in a secure data "vault."

Service availability of the facility regularly exceeds 99.9% thanks to 4,000 Amps of online battery backup and a 1,000 KVA diesel generator. A raised floor supplies forced air cooling through a caged area populated with locked cabinet racks.

Internet bandwidth is provided via redundant Gigabit ethernet adapters with an uplink to multiple Tier-1 Internet backbone providers. All network traffic is secured by a commercial grade Cisco firewall.

Dr.Backup uses highly-reliable HP/Compaq DL380 servers with multiple fiber-attached RAID-5 storage arrays. Each array provides approximately 5 Terrabytes (TB) of high-speed disk storage - enough to support over to 1,000 clients. For added reliabilty, standard RAID-5 fault tolerance (parity data) is augmented with a hot-standby spare drive which is automatically activated should any physical disk failure be detected. All disk drives are continuously monitored using predictive failure technology.

Critical server components are spared onsite and MaxUptime technicians are on call 24 by 7.

Bottom line: if you ever need to retrieve your data - it will be there. Safe and sound!
