Welcome to the Dr.Backup Blog.  My name is Mitchell Romm and I am the founder and Managing Partner of the Dr.Backup online backup service. By default, I’m also the the chief blog master around here!

Dr.Backup specializes in providing off site backup service to small-mid sized businesses – helping them to safeguard their most critical computer data.

My personal background consists of over 30 years in various high-tech and communications industry positions.

Prior to Dr.Backup, I co-founded KIVEX, one of the first Internet Service Providers to deliver high-speed internet access to “smart” commercial office buildings across the country.

I spent 9 wonderful years at Digital Equipment Corporation as Director of corporate electronic mail consulting and 5 years as Vice President of Data Services at Allegiance Telecom.

I live together with my loving wife Susan and daughters Ashley and Brooke in Laurel, Maryland – a suburb of Washington, DC.
